SES Expanding CFM56-7B Portfolio With 40 Engine Order

July 17, 2006

FARNBOROUGH July 17, 2006 Shannon Engine Support (SES) today placed an order for 40 new CFM56-7B spare engines. Scheduled for delivery between late 2006 and 2010, this order will bring SES's total 7B portfolio to more than 80 engines.

SES is one of the largest spare engine leasing companies in the industry and the leading lessor of CFM56 spare engines, supporting more than 700 aircraft and 90 customers worldwide. SES is a wholly owned subsidiary of CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran Group) and General Electric Company.

SES provides flexible, cost-effective engine leasing solutions, tailored to operators' specific requirements and can deliver engines in a ready-to-install configuration within 24 hours from pool locations around the globe. The guaranteed availability program ensures customers will always have the CFM56 engine they need, when they need it. SES also offers short-term engine leases, operating leases, and engine trading. In addition, SES can provide transport and logistical support; on-wing support services; spare stand and bootstrap kits; test cell validation; management of redelivery work; and access to CFM56 technical support resources either directly or through its service partners.

All CFM56-7B engines delivered beginning in mid-2007 will be the new Tech Insertion configuration. CFM56 Tech Insertion incorporates improvements in the high-pressure compressor, the combustor, and the high- and low-pressure turbines to provide lower maintenance costs, improved engine emissions, and better fuel burn.

Overall, SES manages more than 180 CFM56 engines and plans to increase the fleet to more than 250 engines by 2010. In addition to the CFM56-7B, SES also offers CFM56-3, CFM56-5A, CFM56-5B, and CFM56-5C engines. SES is the only lessor to provide CFM56-2C spare engines for DC-8 Super 70 aircraft, CFM56-3 engines with the Advanced Upgrade package; CFM56-5B engines equipped with the advanced double annular combustor; CFM56-5C/P upgraded engines; and CFM56-7B engines rated for the Boeing Business Jet. In 2007, SES will also add CFM56-5B engines in the Tech Insertion configuration. Visit us on the Web at www.ses.ie.
