Patrick Bergin Named SES Managing Director

SHANNON, IRELAND February 6, 2006 Patrick (Pat) Bergin has assumed the role of Managing Director of Shannon Engine Support (SES). Mr. Bergin replaced Roger Welaratne, who has become senior vice president and general manager of Engine Leasing for GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS).

SES is a wholly owned subsidiary of CFM International (CFM). CFM, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran Group) and General Electric Company, produces the world's best-selling commercial engine product line, the CFM56 family. SES, one of the largest spare engine leasing companies in the industry and the leading lessor of CFM56 spare engines, supports more than 680 aircraft worldwide.

In his role as managing director, Mr. Bergin will define and lead SES's global business and market strategy to provide CFM56 guaranteed pool support, as well as short and long term engine leasing. He began his career in technical roles with Air Lingus and Airmotive Ireland. He later moved to Guinness Peat Aviation (GPA), where he served as a technical director and as the company's wet lease manager based in Singapore. Mr. Bergin joined GECAS in 1993 as one of the company's European marketing and sales vice presidents. Most recently, he served as the marketing vice president for the lease and sale of older aircraft worldwide.

GE honored Mr. Bergin in 2004 with the prestigious Gerald L. Phillippe Award, which recognizes employees who distinguish themselves by leading innovative programs that respond to pressing needs in the community. Since 2002, Mr. Bergin has raised more than EUR100,000 (~$120,000) to support education and development efforts in a village in Zambia ravaged by AIDS. The slum, referred to as the Linda Compound, is home to more than 27,000 people. The funds have been used to improve the education of the 600 students at the Linda School, many of whom have been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.
