City Of Cincinnati, Hamilton County Declare September 28, 2004 CFM International Day

EVENDALE, OHIO September 28, 2004 Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken and the Hamilton County Commissioners have both proclaimed September 28, 2004 as "CFM International Day."

CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma Moteurs (Safran Group) (France) and General Electric Company, is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The proclamations read:

"Whereas CFM International was formed 30 years ago as a 50/50 joint company between General Electric and Snecma Moteurs under the leadership of Gerhard Neumann and Rene Ravaud;

and whereas CFM International is esteemed worldwide as one of the finest examples of successful international cooperation;

and whereas the CFM56 product line has grown to become the best-selling commercial aircraft engine of all time, with nearly 15,000 engines in service, a CFM56-powered aircraft takes off every four seconds every day;

and whereas the men and women of GE and Snecma (Safran Group) continue to embody the spirit and vision of Neumann and Ravaud,

Now therefore Charlie Luken, Mayor, City of Cincinnati and John Dowlin, president, Phil Heimlich, vice president, and Todd Portune, member, Board of Hamilton County Commission, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, September 28, 2004 to be CFM International Day."
