CFM statement on Lion Air Flight JT610

October 29, 2018

The Indonesia Ministry of Transportation has confirmed it has located the wreckage of Lion Air Flight JT610, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 airplane powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines that lost radio contact shortly after takeoff en route from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang.

The CFM team worldwide is deeply saddened by the loss of Lion Air flight JT610.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those on board.

CFM is standing by to offer any assistance required by Lion Air, the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and National Transportation Safety Committee, and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.

We have no further information at this time.
