CFM Materials today held a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony February 23rd for its new 48,000-square foot facility here in an event sponsored by the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
Since becoming operational in May 2010, CFM Materials has shipped more than 10,000 used serviceable parts to CFM's aviation customers. The Grand Prairie facility, which opened in January of this year, employs 34 people and supports more than 150 CFM56 customers worldwide.
"This is a great facility for us - modern and efficient - and it enables us to be very responsive to our customers," said Bill Correll, CEO of CFM Materials. "We really benefit from the experience our parent companies, Snecma and GE, bring to help provide the right materials solutions for our customers' requirements, while also providing the high level of support they have come to expect from CFM."
CFM56 engines are a product of CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran group) and GE. CFM Materials is also a 50/50 joint company between GE and Snecma.
