CFM International has awarded the TRUEngineTRUEngineTM is a product of CFM International (CFM), a 50/50 joint company of Snecma (Safran Group) and General Electric Company.
"The TRUEngine™ program is great tool for the industry," said Dave Carey, manager of Powerplant Engineering for Aer Lingus. "We take great pride the technical excellence of our CFM56-powered fleet. This designation provides a verifiable record that these engines are maintained to the very highest standards."
The CFM56-5B engines in the Aer Lingus fleet were awarded TRUEngineTM status following a comprehensive review of the airline's fleet operational data and maintenance records.
These records validated that maintenance of all of the engines is consistent with CFM International's requirements for those engine models, including maintenance practices, spare parts and repairs and that they comply with CFM-issued engine manuals, service bulletins, and other maintenance recommendations.
CFM is doing an extensive evaluation CFM56 engine fleets worldwide to determine their qualification for the TRUEngineTM designation. This designation is available to all CFM56 engines meeting the criteria.
